LONDON / OXFORD – Oxford Saïd Business School, established by the University of Oxford and now recognized as one of the world’s leading business schools, is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
Founded in 1996 with just 40 students, the School moved into its iconic headquarters right in front of Oxford train station in 2001 with the support of Mr. Wafic Saïd. Today, Oxford Saïd welcomes around 1,200 students annually across its accredited degree programmes and has educated more than 100,000 executive education participants globally through both in-person and digital platforms.
“Learning How to Think”
Reflecting on three decades of impact, Professor Mette Morsing, Interim Dean of Saïd Business School, highlighted the institution’s unique approach:
“Oxford Saïd is different, and it always has been. At our heart is a commitment to developing thoughtful, responsible business leaders building the best businesses in the world that are competitive, productive, and resilient, while helping to create the society the world needs. Knowledge matters enormously, but increasingly so does knowing how to ask the right questions, listen to different perspectives, and make good decisions when there is no simple answer. I call it ‘Learning How to Think’.”
Professor Colin Mayer, the School’s first Professor of Management and third Dean, added that Oxford Saïd was built to go beyond traditional business education and redefine the role of business in the 21st century.
